TradesAPI provides programmatic access to publicly-available state contractor licensing records. The service is provided as-is and on a best-effort basis. TradesAPI is offered from and intended for use within the United States. By using the service, you represent that you are accessing it from within the United States for a business purpose.
One API key per registered email address. Users are responsible for all activity under their API key. Do not share keys. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and, if signing up on behalf of an organization, that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
Use of the service is governed by the Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms. The AUP explicitly prohibits use for any purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
One credit is consumed per successful verification. Free tier: 50 credits. Credits are non-refundable. Pricing may change with 30 days notice via email.
Best-effort uptime. No SLA on the free tier. State licensing portals can become unavailable, delayed, or inconsistent for reasons beyond our control. We monitor and alert internally but do not guarantee portal availability.
We may terminate accounts for violations of these Terms, abuse, or for use prohibited by the Acceptable Use Policy, without refund. You may cancel anytime; unused credits are non-refundable on voluntary cancellation.
Data is sourced from public state portals and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or delayed. TradesAPI does not make eligibility decisions and is not responsible for customer decisions based on verification results. Customers are responsible for independently confirming data accuracy before taking adverse action against any individual or business.
Total liability is capped at fees paid to TradesAPI in the 12 months preceding any claim, except for:
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
